Coping for Parents Program

Are you a parent of a child aged 5-12 who:

• Has trouble getting ready for the bus on time most mornings without you having to nag?
• Shows disruptive behaviors at school?
• Doesn't follow directions at home?
• Has been diagnosed with ADHD or has behavior problems?

If you have found yourself considering some of these questions, join our Coping for Parents Program for parents of 5-12 year-olds with ADHD and/or behavior problems offered by the Center for Children and Families (CCF).
 
Coping for Parents is an interactive workshop for parents of children with behavior problems between the ages of 5 and 12. Children participate in social skills groups while parents work together to learn behavior management techniques and solve problems. Our goal is to help parents promote positive changes in their children’s home and school behavior. Coping for Parents is an evidence-based treatment for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and other behavior problems. There have been over 175 studies published in academic journals that prove workshops like Coping for Parents really work!

Location: Modesto A. Maidique Campus, 11200 S.W. 8th Street, Miami, FL, 33199

Cost: $100 for the entire workshop (8 sessions); or $150 for the entire workshop plus a school consultation visit. For the school consultation visit, one of the Center's clinicians will meet with you and your child's teacher at your child's school to set up a behavioral plan for your child in the classroom.

Childcare: Childcare is provided for children ages 3 and up, in addition to social skills training for the target child.
